Meet Our New Assistant to the Assistant
I’m Kirby. I’m helping on the edits with Harry and Hagrid. My job is to make sure that my writer stays focused. I’ll be fine as long as long as the writing doesn’t put me to sleep.

It’s been awhile, and I’m on my 5th draft. Yep. 5th draft. I spent all summer on my 4th draft and had readers give me input. I was just about to make the corrections in September when I received a possible lead for an editor from an acquaintance of mine.
Thinking that really nothing would come of it or at least I would receive a response in about six weeks, I sent off an email and told this person about my work. To my complete horror, she liked it and wanted it now. OMG. What about all the changes? In the meantime, did I mentioned that I volunteered to teach three English classes instead of my usual one? That means at least 300 papers to grade by the end of the semester.
Well, I spent only an hour in panic mode and got busy, pushing all my obligations accept family aside. I literally pulled an all-nighter with only two hours of sleep.
I had to teach that morning and afternoon and explain to my class that my face with its dark circles and pale skin was the “face of procrastination” and never procrastinate.
All in all, I got it emailed off and had a great interview on Skype. I think we are going to have a great partnership in getting my books published.
Bottom line: Don’t give up.
